Today i went for a walk, normally most people would think: “ok thats great, i walk every single day”. But todays walk was special. After football my dad and I decided that, just like when i was young, we would go for a walk round the places were i used to live. Through the mystical wildwood road where i used to listen to stories my dad would think of 10 years ago (which by the way were very good, mainly because he’s a creative writer) and past the homely cottages of the suburbs. Today was a real ‘nostalgic day’ where the past was re-written, except now I’m taller than my dad and when we last went we were 10 years younger.
It’s strange to think that as soon as you move house you stop doing things you used to do. I was reminded of so many parks that i learnt football in or first learnt how to ride a bike. It was a nice day but sometimes you have to find new parks where you first learn how to jump on a bike or play football with your friends.
However, even if i don’t go to those past places, the memories will still be with me. And who knows, maybe i might take my children out for walks when they are young around their special parks and forests.
